Dan Portincaso is writer of short stories, flash fiction, sometimes poetry, with novels in the works.  His writing has appeared in publications such as: F(r)iction, the Hoot Review, and Pank.  He has been a fiction reader for PostRoad magazine and the Chicago Quarterly Review.  He also served a year as Managing Editor of the Chicago Quarterly Review

He is an associate professor of English at Waubonsee Community College where he teaches Fiction and Creative NonFiction, Composition, and Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.  He is also the faculty advisor for the college’s creative writing club and its literary magazine, Horizons.  

Dan has also been the City of Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood tour guide and the Head Docent and Facilities Manager at the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum on the University of Illinois Chicago campus. These positions allowed him to bring the history of social justice on the Near West Side of Chicago to people from around Chicago and the world through tours, exhibitions, research, and community development.  

Dan holds two degrees in fiction writing, a bachelors from Columbia College Chicago and an MFA from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
